Set it up in three steps

Load it. Six AA batteries and the memory card. Cards larger than 32GB will not be recognized.

Aim it. Switch to TEST and mount it about waist height, angled along the trail rather than straight across it — that gives the sensor time to fire before the animal is past. Walk through the frame and check the coverage on the screen.

Arm it. Switch to ON, tighten the strap, and leave it. Come back for the card.
Questions people ask before buying
Does it need Wi-Fi, cell service, or an app?
No. Everything records to the memory card. Review captures on the built-in screen at the tree, or pull the card and read it at home.
What memory card does it take?
MicroSD/TF up to 32GB, and a card is included. Anything larger than 32GB will not be recognized — that is the most common reason a trail camera seems dead out of the box.
How long do the batteries last?
Rated up to six months on standby with six AA cells. Heavy trigger activity and hard cold will cut that down; lithium AAs hold up better below freezing than alkalines.
What will the footage actually show me?
Species, direction of travel, time of day and rough size — what you need to pattern a trail before you hang a stand. It's a scouting camera, not a long-range identification camera.
Can I leave it out all season?
Yes. The IP66 camo housing is rated down to -4°F, so rain, frost and snow are fine.
